Seventeen-year-old Hannah Tarley of Cupertino, has been selected — out of a worldwide pool of about 3,000 applicants — to be a member of the YouTube Symphony Orchestra, a new media initiative to raise the profile of classical music. Three other area musicians will play along with Tarley in the orchestra's Wednesday debut at Carnegie Hall, led by Michael Tilson Thomas.
