Vigilos secures $1.4 million

Vigilos has landed $1.4 million in new funding, with plans to raise another $300,000. The Seattle company plans to use the money to continue developing its sales and reseller network. Vigilos' BrightSite software makes it easier for security guards to monitor activities in hospitals, factories and other secure buildings.

Integrating with security systems, the software provides remote access of multiple facilities and prevents the opportunity for corporate theft or sabotage. Customers using the system include the FBI, Wright Runstad and Pemco.

Northwest Venture Associates is leading the round. Founded in March 2000, Vigilos previously raised about $18 million.

The company is now led by Cliff Sink, who previously served as CEO of SteelCloud.
