We're pleased to report that the upcoming TechFlash Summer BBQ and Ping-Pong Tournament is attracting some interesting competitors, including some big names from Seattle's tech community. We're also happy to welcome Microsoft Bing as presenting sponsor of the event.
Even if you're not into ping-pong, the July 23 get-together at Seattle's Georgetown Ballroom will be a great place to meet up and hang out with other technology geeks and entrepreneurs. One nice feature of the venue is that it has plenty of space for both ping-pong and networking. Ballard's own Smokin Pete's BBQ will be providing the food, and we expect the event to sell out.
Slots in the tournament are filling up fast, so sign up soon if you want to play. Competitors so far include Alex Algard, CEO of WhitePages; Rajeev Singh, president of Concur Technologies; Greg Gottesman of Madrona Venture Group; and Minh Le of Silicon Valley Bank, to name a few. If you enter, be sure to encourage your colleagues to come and cheer you on by signing up under the special group rate.
Bing, Microsoft's newly rebranded search engine, will have some surprises in store as the presenting sponsor. Additional sponsors of the event are Solutions IQ and Seattle University's Master of Software Engineering program.
The event starts at 4 p.m. July 23. The tournament entry is $65, which includes a slot in the bracket, barbeque dinner and event admission. General admission for the event and barbeque is $45. We're looking forward to seeing everyone there!
