Sea-Tac Airport opens new, larger cell phone waiting lot

Picking up summer visitors at Sea-Tac? You just got some more options. The airport opened its new cell phone waiting lot this morning. This one has nearly 100 parking spaces, double the size of the old lot, which has been closed for the past six weeks.

The old lot was closed for the past month and a half because of truck traffic from a cargo operator that moved into an adjacent loading dock, said Sea-Tac spokesman Perry Cooper. The airport acquired the new, larger lot from the U.S. Postal Service, he said. It's located just north of the old lot on Air Cargo Road.

The cell phone lot is free and allows drivers to wait up to 30 minutes for arriving passengers.
